===== Airport Terminology =====

A list of words, phrases, and names we use at the airport

  * AFSC - acronym for [[Armed Forces Service Center]];  Similar to a USO
  * USO - we do NOT have a USO at MSP airport.  Instead we have the [[Armed Forces Service Center]]
  * [[TSA]] - Transportation Safety Administration; The government agency that scans passengers
  * Arrivals - the level of the airport where arriving passengers are reunited with their luggage and family. 
    * It has been called Baggage Claim in the past.  
    * This is level 1.
  * Departures - the level of the airport where passengers check in, drop their luggage, and enter the secure area of the through a [[TSA]] security checkpoint.
    * It has been called Ticketing in the past.
    * This is level 2.
  *  MUFIDS - the arrival/departure screens (multi-user flight information display system)
